Career Information

Short Bio

I have played competitive golf all my life. I decided to make my passion my career and attended Ferris State University for their Professional Golf Management program. I graduated in December 2002 and was elected to the PGA of America in December 2003. Since then, I have spent most of my time as the First Assistant at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland where I run the golf operations and teach. Teaching has become my new passion and that is why I think MySwingOnline is an awesome program to help EVERY golfer improve their game through the use of video.

Beliefs on Golf Instruction

I have worked under many different instructors and have collect most of their knowledge, with a couple tweeks, into my own teaching philosophy. The one thing that I have learned from listening to multiple instructors, is it usually is the same information, but just explained in different “languages”. The art of teaching is not just finding what the person is doing wrong, but communicating it to them in their “language” so they can make the change and improve thier game. My philosophy is based off of the fundamentals of the grip, stance, posture, and how they all inter-twine to create one single motion of the golf swing. The difficult part with this is if any of those items are off or in a bad position, it will affect the entire swing and force other problems to occur.
